Formula & breastmilk estimator

A common rule of thumb is about 2½ ounces of milk per pound of body weight each day, up to about 32 ounces. Babies vary, so follow your baby's hunger and fullness cues.

Breastfed babies are harder to measure, and that's fine. Good signs they're getting enough are 6 or more wet diapers a day after day 5, steady weight gain at checkups, and seeming content after most feeds. Call your pediatrician if your baby has fewer wet diapers, seems very sleepy, or won't feed.
