How to partner with your pediatrician
Partnering with Your Pediatrician: How to Make the Most of Your 15 Minutes
1. Share top concerns upfront
Tell the doctor your main 2–3 priorities as soon as they walk in, so they can plan the visit around them.
2. Bring data & timelines
Share symptom logs, how long things have lasted and what seems to trigger a behavior, instead of guesses. A photo or short video helps too.
3. The partnership mindset
You are the expert on your child; they are the expert on children's medicine. If you disagree, ask with curiosity rather than confrontation.
4. Write down next steps
Take 60 seconds before you leave to repeat back the plan: doses, warning signs to watch for, and when to follow up.
